Where California wines grow

Most wine drinkers think of American wine, they think of California. Approximately, 90% of all United States wine is produced in California. The California Gallo winery is the largest winery in the state.
To produce a fine wine the challenge is to find an area cool enough with poor enough soil, so grapes do not ripen too quickly, too easily, without full flavor development. Sunny California, provides the ideal warm climate for growing grapes. California wines can be found from vineyards up and down the whole length of the state.
